9/21/2012: Storage Box (Not Intended for Baby Storage)

As the warning sticker inside the lid clearly indicates, this storage box is NOT for baby storage. Where you're supposed to store your baby I don't know, just not in this box. The sad thing is that the most likely reason that this box has the "no baby" warning label is that somebody somewhere was stupid enough to put a baby in this type of box. Probably without punching holes in the lid first. Me, I use it to store sweaters under the bed in the summer.

9/13/2012: Pillows

A few months ago I posted that if a plague ever does sweep over the world bringing about the zombie apocalypse it would likely start from something growing on my Cartman mouse pad. And if it doesn't start there, it will start from something growing in my old pillows. Which is why I destroys those and bought these new pillows at Target tonight. World saved!

9/12/2012: Wall Hooks

After years and years I've realized something about myself and clothes storage: I won't use a dresser and I won't hang stuff up in a closet. Pants and anything that warrants a second wearing typically ends up draped over the foot of my bed or piled on the arm of the couch in the guest room. But no more! Not since I installed these handy wall hooks on the wall of my bedroom. They've proven so handy since I put them in last week I'm considering a second row.

9/3/2012: Bedding

I find the word "bedding" kind of annoying. Not really a word a man should use is it? But along with repainting my bedroom, I needed new sheets and a quilt/bedspread to go with the whole color scheme thing. And of course a sham. How stupid are shams? Not to mention pricey! That much for a pillow case I'll only put on my bed on Christmas Eve, so that when my family throws their coats on my bed it looks nice and made up.

9/1/2012: Mattress & Boxspring

Currently my mattress and boxspring are leaning up against the shelves in the guest bedroom. Why? Because I decided this weekend would be a good time to repaint my bedroom. I also decided it should be two shades of gray separated by a red stripe. Just has "disaster" written all over it doesn't it?

7/4/2012: Bed

Nothing like coming home to your own bed after a few nights on the road. Especially a bed that isn't located anywhere near the lounge of the Bismark ND Comfort Inn.

4/28/2012: Plaid Fleece Blanket

This plaid fleece blanket should be packed away or folded up and stuck in a closet by now. But it was cold last night! I miss the warm days of March...

3/30/2012: (Very Dusty) Oscillating Fan

My laziness has paid off. I never bothered to put my oscillating fan away for the winter, left it sitting in the corner of my bedroom. And good thing I didn't cause it's been used already this year several times. I should probably dust it at some point... but that sounds like a job for Future Mike.

1/4/2012: Seasons 1, 2 & 3 of Lost

Time was my entire Wednesday night was dedicated to one thing: Lost. And a good chunk of my Thursday morning was dedicated to explaining the prior night's episode to my manager. Lost was the last show I completely geeked out on. At least for the first few seasons. I'd read online about it. Look for clues. Have long message board discussions about it. Loved it so much I felt compelled to buy Lost seasons 1, 2 and 3 on DVD.

Unfortunately the show eventually collapsed under the weight of the mythology it had created, and I stopped caring long before it actually ended. Struggled to make it through each week's episode. In the end, none of that mythology mattered. I felt cheated by the finale - basically everything that drew me into the show early on (the mystery, the numbers, the polar bear, Darma, etc) was dismissed as not important in the end. And though the end was disappointing, the beginning was great. In my opinion season 1 remains one of the most brilliant TV seasons of a show ever.
