12/20/2012: Ice Scraper

This ice scraper wasn't much good against the 14 inches of snow we got last night but it was handy for some detail work on the sides mirrors.

12/17/2012: Cutting Board

For the rare occasions when I cook and need to cut something (usually an onion or a bell pepper, I buy the pre-sliced mushrooms) I pull out the cutting board. Usually I won't use this one though. It's too big to fit in the dishwasher and I have a smaller one. And if something won't fit in the dishwasher how the hell else am I supposed to get it clean???

12/10/2012: Heat Miser/Snow Miser

For Gen Xers, nothing harkens us back to the holidays of yor quite like the old Rankin and Bass Christmas specials. The Heat Miser and the Snow Miser were featured in one of the better ones, The Years Without a Santa Claus. Which, thanks to ABC Family, I just finished watching. Not quite as good as it was in the 70s, but holds up better than many of the R&B specials. Just try to sit through the Leprechaun's Christmas Gold, I dare you.

It seems the Heat Miser is the more popular of the two Miser brothers, even though they both have pretty much the same song and the same four mini-me minions. Must be Heat's hair that gives him the edge.

And get ready for a barrage of Christmas crap in the next couple weeks.

11/12/2012: Spatula

This spatula is used for flipping pancakes among its many other food flipping related functions.

Yeah, right, like I make pancakes.

11/6/2012: Colander

For extra convenience, this colander has arms the extend so it you can drain your pasta without having to set it directly on the nasty sink bottom itself. Which I always thought was pretty unappetizing.  I suppose I could just keep my sink cleaner...

10/30/2012: Big Bowl of Candy

I resent the implication that most of the Reese's peanut butter pumpkins ended up on the bottom of this big bowl of candy so that they won't be passed out to the trick-or-treaters this evening. That's just how they came out of the bag. If I happen to have a lot of them leftover, so be it.

10/21/2012: Toiletry Bag

Clear of course so the the crack team of TSA agents manning our nation's airports can check for bricks of C4 explosives in amongst the travel.size toothpaste and deodorant.

9/21/2012: Storage Box (Not Intended for Baby Storage)

As the warning sticker inside the lid clearly indicates, this storage box is NOT for baby storage. Where you're supposed to store your baby I don't know, just not in this box. The sad thing is that the most likely reason that this box has the "no baby" warning label is that somebody somewhere was stupid enough to put a baby in this type of box. Probably without punching holes in the lid first. Me, I use it to store sweaters under the bed in the summer.

8/15/2012: Mixing Bowl

Tonight I used this mixing bowl to make up some broccoli salad. I kept buying this deli broccoli salad and frankly it was pricey as hell, so figured I could make it myself. And yes, there is an app for that. I didn't really worry about exact measurements, but here's a rough recipe (and it's yummy):

1 cup or so mayo
1/3 cup or so of raw sugar
1 splash of vinegar
3 Broccoli heads, chopped into small pieces
Some diced onion
A handful of raisins and a handful of sunflower seed
3 or 4 strips of bacon zapped until crumble-able into bits

Mix together the first three, toss with the rest, chill and then eat.

8/14/2012: Contact Case

This contact case is where I store, what else, my contacts when they aren't on my eyeballs. Now for those off you that wear glasses cause you can't stand the thought of touching your eye... stop being pussies and get contacts.

8/13/2012: Pitcher

I use this pitcher to refill the aquarium when its water level gets low and I usually just leave it sitting on top of the aquarium between uses. At one time there was a lid but that disappeared long long ago.

8/7/2012: Star Bowl

Usually the star bowl only comes out for special occasions, like my Flag Day party or for the Super Bowl. Currently it's on the counter because I had to get it out of the high cupboards when digging for a big plastic bowl to put tomatoes in. And just haven't bothered to put it back away. Don't worry, I'll put it on my list of things to do this weekend.

8/5/2012: Recycling Bin

It's (every other) Sunday night so that means it's time to do my part to save the world and put out the recycling bin. And I do want to save the world, it's where I keep all my stuff.

7/17/2013: Watering Can

I don't use this watering can nearly as often as I should which is why I tend to only get plants that can tolerate being ignored for long periods of times. Well, I get other plants at times but they don't survive me for very long.

7/5/2012: Trash Can

Remember metal trash cans? It's hard to imagine Oscar the Grouch living in one of these. Seems most cities have these plastic trash cans now. Where's a green muppet Grouch supposed to find a home?

6/13/2012: Red Igloo Cooler

For some reason I have 6 coolers of varying sizes and designs, of which this red Igloo cooler is one. Why so many? Beats the hell out of me. I didn't even realize it until I took a picture of this one and noticed how many others were stuck under the stairs in the basement.

6/4/2012: Miracle Grow Feeder Nozzle

Picked up a second Miracle Grow feeder nozzle for the garden in the back yard. Didn't want to keep detaching and reattaching the one I had in the front yard to water my window boxes.
